Authorities in Libya have recovered on March 25, unexploded ordnance near a key oil pipeline in the western part of the country, following an explosion at the site. The incident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of critical energy infrastructure in the region.
According to the Interior Ministry, a Russian-made M-62 aerial bomb weighing approximately 250 kilogrammes, along with remnants of a 130mm rocket, were discovered near a pipeline linked to the Sharara Oil Field, which extends towards the Zawiya Refinery. The recovery operation followed an explosion along a gas pipeline route in the Hamada area.
