Cambodia: More than 1,000 landmines, UXOs unearthed in Tboung Khmum province


Demining operations conducted by the National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces (NPMEC) in Tboung Khum saw the discovery of more than 1,000 landmines and other UXOs.

This was confirmed by Senior Minister Ly Thuch, First Vice President of the CMAA. The NPMEC demining force are currently conducting more missions in North Kravien village, Choam Kravien commune, Memot district, said Thuch.

The demining operation was carried out under Samdech Techo Project for Mine Action (STP-MA) and was launched on 15 July. The project aimed to turn Tboung Khmum into a mine-free province within six months.
