Earlier today, a member of the public brought the mortar shell to the council's front counter, prompting the evacuation of staff from the building. Homes within a 100-metre radius were cleared, and a cordon was established in Epsom town centre. A bomb disposal team arrived to deal with the situation, ensuring the safe removal of the device.
