A 'bomb squad' was called to the Three Towns following the discovery of a possible ordnance device.
The item was found at a property in the Border Avenue area of Saltcoats around midday on Tuesday, November 4. Following the discovery, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit - commonly known as the 'bomb squad' - was called to the scene and a cordon was put in place. A controlled explosion was then carried out, shortly before 5pm, on Ardrossan South Beach.
